- Young People’s Advisory Forum [NI]
The Young People’s Advisory Forum has been set up by the Children and Young People’s Unit of the Office of First Minister and Deputy First Minister to contribute to the development of an overarching ten-year children’s strategy for Northern Ireland. [PROJECT COMPLETED AND EVALUATED]
- Young Voices - Include Youth [NI]
Young Voices is an initiative aimed at consulting with marginalised young people aged 16-21 who have had experience of the Criminal Justice System. (E.g. custody, policing, courts, probation).
- Young Witness Service, NSPCC [NI]
This service aims to make the process of giving evidence in court more understandable and less traumatic for witnesses under the age of 18 years. Support and information is provided before, during and after the trial, including a pre-trial visit to court. [EVALUATED]
- Youth for Youth Project [NI]
The Project’s main aim is to give young people a voice in decision-making that affects them and to get them involved in post conflict debates. [PROJECT COMPLETED AND EVALUATED]
- Youth Justice Agency Community Services South Belfast [NI]
Provide support for young people ‘at risk’ through community-based alternatives to care and custody; responding to the principles and objectives of the Criminal Justice (Children) (NI) Order 1998, the Children (NI) Order 1995 and the Justice Act 2002. Community based services aim to prevent and reduce offending by children and young people.
- Youth Justice Agency, Community Services Antrim[NI]
The principal aim of the Youth Justice System is to protect the public by preventing offending by children. The Agency will contribute to the delivery of this aim through the provision of community based services, youth conferencing, and secure custody. The agency is concerned with operations and service delivery and will work in partnership with others in diverting children from crime and assisting their integration into the community. This will be achieved through shared standards, protocols, and service level agreements.
- Youth Link: NI [NI]
Youth Link: NI is the inter-church youth service for Northern Ireland. It was established by the Catholic, Church of Ireland, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches in 1991 and subsequently joined by the Religious Society of Friends and the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church.
- Youth Participation Project [NI]
The programme was developed to give young people skills and confidence to develop a youth council, the programme was developed by workers and young people it included presentation skills.
- Youth Participation Project[I/NI]
This is a recently established cross-border project, whose aim is develop a framework for the participation of young people in the planning of services, which affect their lives. The project is mandated by the inter-agency Children and Young People’s Committees in the Western Health and Social Services Board in Northern Ireland and the Health Service Executive North West in the Republic of Ireland. The overall aim of our project to improve the quality of life of young people who live in the north-west region by ensuring their systematic and continuous involvement in the design and planning of health and social care services in their area.
