- Fostering Network Children’s Forums[NI]
The Fostering Network provide a range of services which assist and support foster carers and ultimately fostered children in Northern Ireland. The organisation exists to ensure the highest standards of care for the 1500 children and young people living with foster families on any given day in the province.
- Galliagh Youth Forum[NI]
Off the Streets Initiative is a street Work project based in the Galliagh area of Derry. Galliagh Youth Forum are responsible for coming up with their own projects, actively applying for funding and undertaking projects to completion.
- Gay & Lesbian Youth Northern Ireland (GLYNI) [NI]
GLYNI operates under a peer-led ethos, providing support for young people aged between 16 and 25 years old who would identify themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans or, quite simply non-heterosexual. It is a run by a team of volunteers, all of whom are members, and co-ordinated by a senior volunteer, who himself started as a member in the group.
- Healthy Minds Project - NDCS[NI]
The Healthy Minds Project will develop an intervention programme promoting positive mental health by producing materials in self confidence, problem solving skills, peer relationship and defining emotions.
- Holywood Childcare Matters – Shooting Stars After Schools Club[NI]
Holywood Childcare Matters aims to set up and maintain a social economy after schools club to provide high quality affordable socially inclusive social services registered out of school play facility on a cross community basis
- Kid's Club - Cahoots NI children's theatre company[NI]
Cahoots NI is a professional children’s touring theatre company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Company was formed in 2001 by Paul Bosco Mc Eneaney and Zoe Seaton. Cahoots NI is an independently constituted company with charitable status. The Company concentrates on the visual potential of theatre and capitalises upon the age-old popularity of magic and illusion as an essential ingredient in the art of entertaining.
- Limavady/ Rural Foyle Youth Council [NI]
This council is representative of the children and young people from the surrounding youth clubs. They are engaged in: political education, active citizenship, youth advocacy, international exchange
- Lisburn Families Service [NI]
An Advocacy Group is still in early stages but staff are helping young people aged 14-18yrs, with a learning disability to look at various aspects of their lives (e.g. school, leisure activities etc.) and any changes they would want to make. The group is using discussion, roleplay, questionnaires etc to explore these areas. We would be keen to use a video diary approach at some time in the future.
- Looked After Children Education – Include Youth [NI]
The Looked After Children in Education (LACE) research set about to explore the issues concerning the education experiences of children and young people in residential care as they perceived them and suggest ways in which things could be improved. Young people were trained in interview and research techniques and conducted the research themselves; a project worker supported them in this.
- MAD 2 DAY (Making a Difference Today) Group [NI]
The MAD 2 DAY Group started January 2001 and is supported by the Western Area Children and Young People’s Committee. The purpose of this group is to bring the experiences and the voices of young people in to Children’s Services Planning.[PROJECT COMPLETED]
