The Electoral Commission has published a report presenting the findings and recommendations of the 2003 monitoring programme of the Youth Voting Network. The network has focused on the activities of politicians, Government, The Electoral Commission and the media aimed at reconnecting young people with politics.

- Children As Complainants In The Health And Personal Social Services In Northern Ireland [NI]
This report investigates the operation of post 1996 ‘Wilson Complaints procedures’ or within the post 1995 Children Order procedure within Health and Social Services Trusts in Northern Ireland with regard to complaints made by or on behalf of children and young people. It also discusses the importance of such systems in upholding children’s rights and in particular Article 12 of the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child which establishes the principle that children have a right to express their views on all matters of concern to them.

On behalf of the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People (NICCY), Queen’s University has produced a report entitled Children’s Rights in Northern Ireland 2004. The 281-paged research document comprises an audit of the current state of children’s rights and a critical analysis of the extent to which they are respected in law, policy and practice.
