The Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People has recently completed a review of looked after children and young people’s involvement in care planning; highlighting the need for these children and young people to have more say in decisions regarding their care.

Practical tool for those involved in implementing the principles and provisions of the Convention. Under each article of the Convention, it records and analyses the interpretation by the Committee on the Rights of the Child, the internationally-elected body of independent experts established to monitor progress worldwide. Analyses relevant provisions in other international instruments, comments from other UN bodies and global conferences, and illustrative examples of implementation from countries around the world. For each article there is an implementation checklist asking key questions on progress. This revised edition adds analysis of the work of the Committee on the Rights of the Child up to 2007.
