4 Nations Child Policy Network - History

The 4 Nations Child Policy Network is a partnership between Children in Northern Ireland, The National Children's Bureau (England), Children in Scotland and Children in Wales.

In 2001 our organisations formed a partnership to develop a policy information service for those working with children and young people. The purpose of the service was to bring together information from the four nations in one place, to enable practitioners to understand comparative policy and identify best practice. This work was supported by the Community Fund.

As of September 2005, the 4 Nations Child Policy website has devolved to four linked websites run by each of the partners. New and improved services enable users to access child policy information from this website which is linked to websites operated by Children in Wales, Children in Scotland and the National Children’s Bureau in England. Through our sites, you will be able to find the regional information you need more easily while retaining access to comparable information from the other jurisdictions through links between the sites. Cross-nation news feeds (see Child Policy Information Overview page) and the UK email bulletin will continue to provide valuable up to date information from across the UK.
