How are the Children and Young People involved?
The young people involved in Antrim Youth Council met at the start of September to discuss and plan their priorities for the period September 2006-June 2007. They took the decision to design and circulate a calendar of events for this period. The group subsequently sent calendars and information about the youth council out to a range of community, statutory, voluntary and detached groups involving young people within the Antrim Borough area. Furthermore the Youth Council meets on a monthly basis to among other things plan, deliver and review each event. The first of these events a trip to the Belfast Giants was attended by 90 young people from various groups and detached projects from across Antrim.
