Article 12 [UK]
Article 12 is an organisation that takes its name from Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which says that all children have the right to express their views and to have them taken seriously. The aim of the site is to inform children and young people about the latest issues affecting them and how they can help.
The site includes:
- Children’s rights information
- Details of a resource pack created by young people for use by teachers and youth workers to enable them to introduce children’s rights, through UK issues, to young people
- Background information on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, including links to a ‘jargon busting’, user-friendly version of the Convention and to UNICEF UK’s website for children and young people
Members of Article 12 come from all over the UK, from all different backgrounds and anyone under 18 can join online on the website.
