How are Children and Young People Involved?:
Ballymena YouthBank is a youth-led project established in September 2001 that exists to make small grants of £5-£1,000 to youth-led activities in the Ballymena Borough council area of Northern Ireland. Further to this Ballymena YouthBank is a youth-led accredited training provider in personal development and capacity-building skills. YouthBank is about improving or enhancing the skills and lives of young people aged 14-25, which will impact on and benefit the community as a whole. Ballymena YouthBank is made up of a committee of young people between 14 and 25 years, who have the responsibility for grant-making, decision-making, carrying out research, promoting YouthBank, making all strategic and operational decisions, representing Ballymena YouthBank on various committees such as Ballymena Community Forum Board of Directors, Ballymena Good Relations Forum, Ballymena Local Strategy Partnership, Northern Ireland YouthBank Advisory Board, YouthBank UK Trustee and Advisory Board, as well as facilitating training and undertaking personal development opportunities.
