What did or what has the project/initiative achieved in terms of positive change for the organisation or/and the children and young people?
The young people have been involved in setting the Regional 3 year Childrens Services Plan. Two of the young people sit on the Southern Area CSP Disability Working Group. Three Young people have taken part in the United Nations Committee on the Rights of The Child Day of General Discussion in Geneva and have influenced the Committees reporting back to World Wide Governments. The have influenced UK Government policy on Teacher Training to include Disabled Children in mainstream education. Young people have influenced the Change in Hate Crime Legislation. The Young People have influenced regional wheelchair services and have contributed to many local and regional strategic planning consultations. Members of the Project sit on various influencing groups. Members of the group have worked with Hospital Management Staff and Parents in Craigavon Area Hospital to develop a Fast Track System and a Health record System for Disabled Children And Young People.

Any further /additional information on your project/initiative?
The Project is funded through Wraparound and the young people are given the opportunity to have their say with Professionals and Parents through Wraparound’s Public quarterly Stakeholder Forums.
