British Youth Council [E/NI/S/W]
The British Youth Council (BYC) is a coalition of 180 organisations that aim to provide a voice for young people and is run by young people for young people.
Their website provides information about the organisation’s work in promoting the active citizenship of young people and the work it does to help them develop the skills and abilities to participate fully within decision making bodies, the communities in which they live and society as a whole.
The website also includes:
- Details of campaigns around the rights, involvement and citizenship of young people at a local, national and international level
- Advice on good practice in involving young people and details of a BYC service to organise and facilitate consultations with young people in a variety of formats from questionnaires up to weekend residential focus group meetings

Also includes information about the Involving Young People Unit, which is the focal point for BYC’s work with young people to promote their active citizenship and involvement within organisations and the communities in which they live.
