Child Brain Injury Trust [NI]
Age Group: CBIT supports children and young people aged 0 – 21 years but our group work to date has mainly been with 11 – 18 year olds involving 10 individuals
Specific Interest Group: Children and young people with acquired brain injury, their siblings and peers.
How are the Children and Young People involved?
At present due to limited resources CBIT has had several informal group activities with children and young people. We have combined social activities with informal consultation processes to find out what these children and young people want from CBIT and from live in their communities. We have also circulated a formal questionnaire to a selected group of young people to obtain information for a project being considered by external funders. We are very keen to develop participation methods with the children and young people we support to make sure they are involved in our plans and development so that what CBIT offers meets their needs and supports them in achieving their potential in all areas of their lives.
Geographical Location: Northern Ireland
Any further /additional information on your project/initiative?
This work is at the very early stages. CBIT’s funding ceases in March and we are concentrating at present on trying to secure financial support to allow us to take this forward. If that happens then participation is a key area of work
