The Seen and Heard Project focuses on children and young people who face extra challenges in being heard, such as young people with a disability or children from the Travelling community.The Seen and Heard project is about children and young people using the creative arts to express their views and opinions.

How are Children and Young People Involved?
The young people worked over a ten month period with Ellis, the Equality Outreach worker from Derry Children’s Commission and a team of creative arts facilitators. They used a range of mediums to express themselves such as art and ceramics, video and digtal storytelling, circus skills and dance. Through the creative arts they explored and expressed issues relating to their lives making the connections to he rights defined in the UNCRC.

Young People from Troy College Belmont have worked in ceramics to produce a sculptural piece which will be housed in the Pennyburn Inclusive Play Trail.

Young Travellers have made digital stories using new technology to capture a glimpse of what their lives are like.

Young People from Foyleview have wroked in an inclusie programme with St Patrick’s PS have have ued art, dance and movement to express themselves.
