Age Group:10-16 –participation groups involve 72 children directly. At least 1,000 children per annum involved in general participative activities
Specific Interest Group:Participation groups are focused on children who are more marginalised and who face additional barriers in realising their rights-children with disabilities, Traveller children and children from other MEC.
How are the Children and Young People involved?
We support four participation groups with a focus on children who are most marginalised, children and young people with disabilities, Traveller children and children and young people from minority ethnic communities who have recently come to the city. We also do general participation and consultation work with children and young people across the city and district.

We have developed an approach which is called the Seen and Heard approach.

• Website developed by young people for young people
• Seen and Heard project which facilitates the participation of the most marginalised young people
• Creative innovation in the area of young people’s participation.
• Evidence of real change for children and impact on decision making particularly in the local area
