Kikass.co.uk [E/NI/S/W]
kikass.co.uk is a web-based research service, run by youth charity K-Generation, which collects the views of 16-30 year-olds. The charity aims to raise money by selling reports compiled from market research data gathered from the website, using online quantitative and qualitative techniques.
K-Generation is currently developing a number of Kikass projects which use fresh, innovative and youth focused approaches to offer new options to young people. These include:
- Citizenship Online
Working in partnership with the Hansard Society, K-Generation is developing an Internet based software package to help teachers effectively deliver the new Citizenship curriculum in schools. The site is primarily aimed at key stage 3 and 4 pupils and centres on an online forum that enables young people to engage with and debate current world issues and politics. - Kikass 5000
K-Generation is in the process of building a network of 5000 young people and key youth influencers to help develop social and educational solutions that work in the modern world and which are able to benefit the maximum number of young people. The project is particularly interested in finding new ways for young people facing disadvantage or discrimination to overcome obstacles and develop new skills. - Youth Voter Apathy
K-Generation is trying to find why just 39% of 18-24 year olds voted in the last general election. Working with MPs and engaging with hard to reach areas of the youth market, Youth Voter Apathy aims to bring forward the real ‘street’ thoughts on this issue and then find innovative solutions that work in the real world. Partner website http://www.spinon.co.uk focuses on UK politics from a youth perspective.
