Listen Then Commission: A Report to the Department of Health [E/NI/S/W]
As part of Choice Protects, the Department of Health’s review of fostering and placement services, the Fostering Network and the Who Cares? Trust were asked to find out about children’s views on the commissioning process for foster care provision.
Their report looks at a number of local authorities to establish how developed their children’s participation services are, and asks what children thought of the services they received.
Includes a brief overview of the legislation and policy context impacting on the involvement of children and young people in developing commissioning services. Makes recommendations for good practice about how the views of children and young people could incorporated into the commissioning process.
