  • Marginalised, disaffected and/or excluded young people (of school age) – outside mainstream educational provision;
  • Parents - of referred young people and from the local Community - including young Mums;
  • Outreach, detached older young people disengaged from existing youth provision;
  • In-School support programmes – addressing issues of relevance.
  • How are Children & Young People Involved?

  • Via ‘Contract’ input during induction at start of school year and the various programmes;
  • Via Youth Forum (within Newstart and to be extended to include other AEPs i.e. Alternative Education Projects across Belfast);
  • Via In-House representative systems;
  • Via In-House Participants’ Fora re’ input re’ suggestions on programmes etc;
  • Via Evaluations – both Individual and Group;
  • Via Key Worker Meetings (monthly);
  • Via Suggestions and Complaints Procedures.
