TACT: Teens against Cancer Together
KACTUS: Kids Against Cancer That’s Us
18+
All our programmes are developed through feedback from the children and Young people without their involvement we would have no youth programme. They have informal discussion groups to decided what programmes or events they would like to undertake. They are also very involved in the production of our education booklet Me and the Big C and our Spikey DVD. Both education sources help other young people/children understand and cope with friends or themselves going through cancer treatment.
Without this participation from the children and young people the youth programmes would not be as successful as they have been. We have recently completed the OCN introduction to youth worker with our 18+ group, because we want them to become more vocal and active in our organisation. These young people will be the new volunteers coming into the youth programme in order to lead it forward with enthusiasm and life experiences of dealing with cancer. They have the qualifications/experience to help other children and Young people coming to terms with cancer.
