It provides children with an eagerness to learn and the skills to participate.  It has allowed them to become more confident and visible in their communities.

The project aims:-
To support Traveller parents in understanding the importance of play for their children from birth to four years old:-

  • To provide stimulating play experiences for children in their own homes,
  • To improve the level of enrolment of Traveller children by age 4 in pre-school settings and
  • To work with Traveller parents and focus on their inclusion
  • UPDATE
The Project has extended geographically to cover three additional areas; Armagh, Magherafelt and Ballymena.  An evaluation of the project has been completed and the launch will take place in the New Year.  To date the project has supported 337 children in their own homes which may be at the side of the road, on a site or in a house.
