How are the Children and Young People involved?
Two young people are members of our 7 member Board.  Our work is based on a model of ‘civic youth work’, which involves young people identifying issues they want to work on and then being assisted by an adult ‘coach’ to deliver an action project or campaign based on their issue.  We also are responsible for the WIMPS (Where Is My Public Servant?) website, http://www.wimps.org.uk – an interactive website including embedded video technology, podcasting and an on-line projects database created by young people.  One of the key features of the site is a political database, where users, by typing in their postcode, can email all their elected representatives from Council to European level.  The site was created and is run by young people for young people and is unique in the world.  Anyone interested in youth participation should see the site as a key resource in their work.

Geographical Location
Northern Ireland wide (based in Belfast) and worldwide via the web and through work with youth organisations in other conflict regions of the world.
