Children's Rights Website [NI]
The world’s first interactive children’s rights website http://www.knowurrights.org has been developed through a creative partnership between Derry Children’s Commission, Save the Children and The Nerve Centre. Through this unique project by children for children, sixteen young people from schools across the Derry City Council area have been involved in the development of a website dedicated to explaining the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Wise up to Child Poverty
‘Wise Up To Child Poverty - an information guide for decision makers’ has been produced by Derry Children’s Commission. The unique guide which was developed through workshops with children, presents an up to date policy overview of the issue of child poverty within the UK, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland context and then develops this analysis more specifically with reference to the Derry City Council area . The information is presented in a clear and accessible format and will be of particular interest to all those in the statutory, community and voluntary sectors who are working to improve the lives of children. The report can be accessed on the Derry Children’s Commission website:
