The Children Now Participation Charter sets out a vision for giving children and young people a say in the decisions that affect them. It was drawn up in collaboration with experts and organisations in the field as well as children and young people.

The Prinicples within the Charter state:
• Participation is a right
• Children and young people are the best authorities on their own lives
• Participation depends on respect and honesty
• Participation must be accessible and inclusive
• Participation is a dialogue to influence change
• Participation is built in
• Participation is everyone’s responsibility
• Participation benefits everybody
