How are Children and Young People Involved?
Making Connections is a participation project which provides an introduction to Voice of Young People in Care. The project offers care experienced children and young people across Northern Ireland, the opportunity to take part in various programmes and activities, enabling time to make connections with their peers, VOYPIC, and other relevant professional and agencies.

Views and Experiences of Care Experienced Children and Young People
What did or what has the project/initiative achieved in terms of positive change for the organisation or/and the children and young people?
Encouraged the participation of this group of young people who are usually isolated from services, activities and their communities due their experience. Encouraged and influence the service provided by the agency due to consultative work with young people, which in turn has had a positive impact n their lives through service delivery and policy changes.

Any further /additional information on your project/initiative?
www.bawareofwatsncare.co.uk is the new youth section of Voice of Young People in Care’s website which provides information, games and fun for young people. On this site you will also find information on VOYPIC services, a calendar of up and coming events and young people will have the opportunity to submit articles for VOYPIC News and contact VOYPIC staff with their comments. The links section will allow young people to connect to other agencies and services that provide advice and information for care experienced children and young people.
Update
The 2nd year of PACE programme is currrently running across Northern Ireland. The PACE Programme is a personal development group work programme providing care experienced young people aged 12-15 and 16-21 years, with the opportunity to develop a wide range of personal and social life skills. The 12 session programme covers a range of issues relationships, alcohol and drugs, employment, confidence, education, socialising, peer pressure and other issues and challenges young people may face.
