How are Children and Young People Involved?
Through the Mentoring Project children and young people are offered the opportunity to be matched to a Mentor for a period of one year. In this year they meet their Mentor on a weekly basis to particpate in activities and to set and achieve goals. Children and young people can also get involved in workshops and activity days that are offered by the Mentoring project throughout the year.
The children and young people have a vital role to play in the development of their Mentoring relationship and are asked to engage with a project worker to carry out specific pieces of work and to guide and shape the relationship to ensure they get the best out of it. They are also asked to attend Catch-up’s with their Mentor to review the mentoring relationship, ask for support and guidance and plan their goals.
