Youth for Youth Project [NI]
Aim: The Project’s main aim is to give young people a voice in decision-making that affects them and to get them involved in post conflict debates. Through this the project also aims to promote better community relations.
The Project was the first from Northern Ireland to win an annual Philip Lawrence Award.
The group made submissions to the consultations for the Commissioner for Children and Young People, lobbied MLA’s and the Tribunal on War-Affected Children.
Target Group: Children living with conflict
Outcomes: The outcomes of the process are:
• the impact of interventions on others or other processes,
• changes in the Youth for Youth young people themselves,
• the impact on their home communities,
• and the impact on Save the Children.
End Date: The Youth for Youth Project concluded work in 2002, and an evaluation of the Project has been completed.
